After two successful editions in Paris, the prestigious Visionaries Fashioning Africa (VFA) made its highly anticipated debut in New York on February 5, 2025, at the iconic Splashlight Studios.
The exclusive event, hosted in partnership with Splashlight Studios and Bôhten, connected creatives from across the globe to celebrate and amplify Africa’s rich cultural heritage and groundbreaking contributions to the fashion industry.
Under the theme “Bridging Heritage & Innovation: Elevating African Creatives on the Global Stage,” VFA 2025 brought together thought leaders, designers, and industry professionals for an evening of inspiration, dialogue, and collaboration.
The program featured an immersive fashion exhibition themed WABASO which showcased the craftsmanship and innovation of some select Ghanaian designers; an engaging panel discussion led by industry experts that explored how African heritage
intersects with innovation to drive global recognition; and a networking session designed to foster meaningful connections.
The panel discussion was moderated by Irene Ojo-Felix, Editorial Director at Models.com, and featured an esteemed lineup of speakers, including Amira Rasool,Founder & CEO ofThe Folklore; Nana Boateng Osei, Co-Founder of Bôhten; Wilglory Tanjong, Founder & CEO of Anima Iris; Jacques Agbobly, Fashion Designer & Founder of Agbobly; and Armando Cabral, Founder & Creative Director of Armando Cabral, and Alioune Badara Fall, Multi-Creative Model & Designer.

Bôhten also gave guests an experiential feel of their latest Icon Series, the Duru Spring/Summer 2025 Collection, and the breathtaking Mufasa Collection inspired by Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King
