Following its success in Accra, LHAUDE Africa proudly presents the Cape Town edition of ‘ROOTS: Made in Africa,’ an assembling of creative businesses, brands, professionals, investors and industry leaders, designed to enable business to business networking, create deal-making opportunities and drive product sales.

This second edition of the travelling pop-up program has been developed in association with Merchants on Long, a legendary African luxury boutique that is a pillar of the fashion and creative landscape in Cape Town.

ROOTS is more than a series of pop-ups,” says Lhaude Africa founder Rhoda Aguonigho. “It’s a celebration of Africa’s vibrant creativity and a bridge connecting African artisans, businesses, and consumers across the continent. Through Pan-African trade and collaboration, we can not only showcase the brilliance of Made-in-Africa products but also foster a thriving ecosystem that empowers Africa’s creative spirit.”

“Doing business in your little corner of the world can be blinding until you try other parts of the world and you get to see how much you still have to learn and how much you’ve got to explore. ROOTS Ghana helped me see my business in a different light,” says MAK’s Moses Agosu of his experience at the inaugural edition of ROOTS. “I came to the realisation that I wasn’t as prepared as I thought when it comes to cross border trade, and I truly appreciate seeing all the missing spots I need to fill to prepare myself for the adventure ahead. More so, I’ve always wanted to get a stockist for my brand and ROOTS helped me score a good one. It was also lovely interacting with the people, with their mindset & way of life. In all, ROOTS Ghana was a fulfilling experience, but I just wish we had more time!”

Across a 6-day gathering in Cape Town from the 4th to the 10th of November 2024, ROOTS is set to host fashion stakeholders from across Africa. With exciting brands like Kiko Romeo, Mangishi Doll and Sindiso Khumalo participating, and leading voices like Sulona Reddy, Tamburai Chirume, Errica Iacopini and Tracey Chiappini scheduled to share key insights in
panel discussions, ROOTS Cape Town is a can’t-miss event for the 2024 African fashion calendar. Registrations for both panels are now open & space is limited.

More designer & speaker announcements as well as the full daily schedule are forthcoming on LHAUDE’s social media channels. For more information on the ROOTS: Made in Africa program, please contact the team at LHAUDE using the details listed at the start of this release.
